Shanana and David allowed us to hold our wedding dinner at the Nakara Villa. We experienced unforgettable moments at an absolutely beautiful place - the houses and garden surrounded by rice paddies are stunning and unique in Udon. Shanana even took some time to meet us months in advance.
Truly unique and wonderful place to experience the laid back, quiet and simple Thai countryside lifestyle. Host David and his house keepers made our time in the villa totally enjoyable and we will always reminisce the pleasant and peaceful days in Nakara Villa.
Where to begin? When we arrived, we thought we were in heaven. NAKARA VILLA is so quiet, in a rural setting, the perfect representation of Isan culture. It is not so hard to find, open Google Maps, and it will help you to locate NAKARA VILLA. If not, the owner’s wife, Shanana, will guide you to the house. She is an example of hospitality, friendliness and so much more. She is fso kind and has a great sense of humour, I miss her already...
"We stayed at this wonderful villa during 6 nights in July. What we most enjoyed is the tranquility. This villa is perfectly located in the middle of the ricefields, but not too far from the city. Shanana is a perfect hostess, she makes the stay very comfortable. She guides you on trips, is very enthousiastic"
"My family just returned from a very relaxing, luxurious and pampered stay at this fantastic property near the sleepy town of Udon Thani. The facilities are all you could want for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday away from the hustle and bustle of Thai beaches and cities but within easy reach of a small town that provides shopping malls, supermarkets, night markets etc. The villa has clearly been built with love with so many small details that you rarely find in villas in the North East. The two master bedrooms suites were huge, possibly the largest rooms we have stayed in, yet still intimate and comfortable; absolutely ideal for a family of five".

"As regular travelers to Udon I can honestly say there is nothing to compare with this Villa in terms of places to stay. It is really a diamond in Udon. We loved being so well looked after by the housekeepers. The rooms are all big and gorgeous with the open roofs. We were also lucky as the rice fields were in full bloom so everything looked gorgeous. Best though was the food. On our last night we opted for a barbeque cooked by the villas’s house keeper which we had outside on the terrace under the stars."
"Narkara Villas is an absolute gem; I can’t wait to return.
The villa itself is gorgeous, a sprawling Issan-style home with contemporary British influences, set among rice fields, but it was the charming hostess, Shanana, who made our trip feel like a homecoming, who prepared our amazing meals and offered us some of her mother’s more authentic food"

"Very friendly & helpful staff that are more than happy to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible by making & bringing refreshments (and cold towels) on a regular basis & even with the option of them cooking you dinner while you sit on a terrace relaxing".
From when i made the booking the communication from the start was excellent with clear & precise directions on the location, even with requests on what food would be liked upon arrival! This is by far the best place to stay in Udon.
