TOM KHA KAI -  A mild to spicy soup with coconut milk, galangal (kha) and chicken.

TOM YAM - A hot and sour broth made from lemon grass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves, dried chillies and lime juice, usually with prawns (Tom yam kung) or chicken (Tom yam kai)

TOM CHUET - A light vegetable, chicken or pork broth with vegetables and celery, to which minced pork, soft tofu, seaweed, glass noodles and mushroom

TOM SEAP (Hot and Sour Isan Soup) - A spicy soup made with stewed meat (usually pork, chicken or beef), roasted fresh herbs and spices, ground roasted rice, and generous amounts of lime juice and fresh herbs

At Nakara Villa we grow all our own rice in the fields surrounding the Villas as well as fields further North.  All our rice is grown organically without the burning of fields or the use of synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers.  We may not get the best yields from our fields but we certainly get better tasting rice!

Lunch and dinner will nearly always be served with two types of rice: 

Jasmine: a long-grain rice that has a sweet aromatic fragrance which should be familiar to all our visitors

Sticky Rice: An absolute favourite of children, this rice is native to SE Asia and has opaque grains, very low amylose content, and becomes slightly sticky when cooked.  A local specialty is to cook the rice without water cooked with no added water inside a special kind of bamboo (called sunga saul bnaah). 

When asked we can also prepare any variation of friend rice.
